How Firm a Foundation
This blog has been very slow moving over the past three months. For AMHE we have been focusing on our newsletter primarily. If you have not received one of our newsletters before, but would like to get on our mailing list, send us an email.

Meanwhile, our family has been very busy in a variety of our usual and unusual activities, and in hopes of keeping up some interest in this blog, I will be posting about some of our recent doings over the next few days (hopefully).

A few weeks ago, our house was attacked by giant moles. No, actually, we had to have some foundation-jacking done.

Our house was settling and developing some cracks in the foundation that went up into our walls, and the solution was the placement of some large steel screws under the front of our house. Another part of the solution was the removal of several pine trees close to the front of our house. The trees were sucking out the moisture and causing the house to sink down in the front. It really changes the way our house looks from the street.
