“Update, Monday, December 19, 2005.”
In the last several weeks, Prime Minister Sharon’s
political coalition has fallen apart, and new elections are planned for
the end of February. It is a three-way contest: between:
1. Mr. Ariel Sharon (leading a new liberal party, Kadima);
2. Mr. Amir Peretz (new leader of the liberal Labor party); and
3. Mr Benyamin Netanyahu (the emerging leader of Likud, which Sharon
used to lead). Mr. Netanyahu tends to be more conservative in preserving
the Biblical land of Israel, and also in tending to allow persecution of
Messianic Jewish believers in Israel. Mr. Netanyahu generally stands
against land give-aways. Sometimes he does give in to the American
pressure to compromise in this area, however.
The end of February/start of March is about the time when Iran is
expected to have the technology to begin constructing a nuclear warhead,
coincidentally. Pray that this will be stopped. Pressure is building on
Israel’s security, and Mr. Sharon generally acts like nothing is
happening.
The borders of Israel are under more and more threats from her
neighbors. Several weeks ago, Israel caved in to American pressure to
open a Gaza crossing to Egypt with little or no security oversight (so
terrorists can go in both directions). A week ago, Sec. of State Rice
successfully pressure Israel to allow P.A. truck convoys from Gaza to
Judea & Samaria with no security oversight (so terrorists from Gaza can
begin building teams in Judea & Samaria, and deliver weaponry). Over and
over, America is violating Israel’s security concerns; please pray that
this will stop.
And, P.M. Sharon has just suffered some sort of brain malfunction such
as a stroke and is in hospital. Please pray for him.
Please pray for a government that will stand up for Israel’s territorial
and security concerns, and at the same time be friendly to the Messianic
Jewish believers in the land of Israel - an unusual combination for the
governments of Israel. Pray this way for Israel’s government, and for
America’s government, and for your own government if you are in a
different nation.

Prayer Topic this Week:
• God is Looking for Intercessors
Just as the New Testament, apostolic faith that Yeshua left with His
disciples was perverted very shortly after the Temple in Jerusalem was
destroyed, and the Jewish people were dispersed to the four corners of
the earth, so this faith is once again being restored in our generation
as the Jewish people are gathered back again to their own land by God's
mighty hand.
It is important to understand how significant the physical restoration
of Israel and Jerusalem is to God's program for mankind, and
consequently how much the devil is opposing this restoration. Sad to
say, most Christians have no idea about this and are therefore not
motivated to pray. The truth is that Satan is very determined to do
everything he can to wipe Israel off the map, because he is fully aware
of what is at stake.
We read in Revelation 16:13-16 about this end time battle.
"Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of
the mouth of the dragon [Satan], out of the mouth of the beast [the
antichrist] and out of the mouth of the false prophet [apostate
Christianity together with other false religions]. They are spirits of
demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the
whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God
Almighty. …they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew
is called Armageddon."
This is talking about the final effort by the devil to destroy Israel by
mobilizing the whole world to march against her. This battle is clearly
described to take place in Israel. We do not believe that we are there
yet, but we need to realize that the devil will make many failed
attempts to destroy Israel before the final one.
The three evil spirits mobilizing the nations to destroy Israel are 1.
Anti-Semitism; coming from the mouth of the dragon (if you have any
history of anti Semitism in your family, sincerely pray for deliverance
from the poison of this deadly spirit from Satan, who vehemently hates
the Jewish people!) 2. Anti Zionism; coming from the mouth of the beast
(this is the demon behind world politics that denies the Jewish people
their divine right to all of the land of Israel), and 3. Replacement
theology; coming from the mouth of the false prophet. The mouths
mentioned here symbolize the media, which more and more brainwash the
nations to hate Israel to the point that her liquidation seems like a
good solution to the problems of mankind.
In this hour we must more than ever understand the spiritual battle that
is going on against these three demons and the importance of Isaiah
62:6-7. God has ordained intercessors to work alongside Him in order to
accomplish His will!
"I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be
silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest,
and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the
praise of the earth."
The Present Situation Facing Israel
Here is a very brief overview of the situation that Israel is facing
right now.
In a few months, Israel will be exposed to a deadly nuclear threat from
Iran, whose leader openly states that he wants to “wipe Israel off the
map”, and that all the Jews in Israel ought to move to Europe or
somewhere else. The devil is busy planning another holocaust.
The situation along the borders of Israel is now very dangerous.
Southern Lebanon is completely controlled by Hizb’allah, which is the
most advanced and well equipped terrorist organization in the world,
with elite soldiers and at least 15,000 rockets and missiles at its
disposal. Their express goal is the liquidation of Israel. In the South,
Sinai is now controlled by Al-Qaeda who has announced that Israel is
their next target.
Syria could soon have a new regime, even more dangerous than the present
one, if the terrorist organizations headquartered in Damascus take over
the country. Egypt is more or less cooperating with the terrorist groups
that want to destroy Israel.
Very likely, another more dangerous Palestinian Intifadah, with more
dangerous weapons, including WMDs, will soon break out both from Gaza
and from Judea and Samaria. Despite the so called Road Map to peace and
the death of Yasser Arafat, the Arab Palestinian's desire to destroy
Israel is as strong as ever. The terrorist groups Hamas and PFLP, who
both refuse to accept Israel's right to exist, won 74% of the votes this
week in the key municipal elections in Judea and Samaria, in
preparations for the Palestinian elections next month. Their strength is
even greater in Gaza. This is the future of a democratic Palestine.
The Qassam rockets, now with even longer range, are daily being fired
from Gaza into Israel, despite the disengagement. There has been
absolutely no movement towards reconciliation and peace. Just a small
example of this was a highly promoted "peace game" two weeks ago in
Spain, between a joint Israeli/Palestinian soccer team and Barcelona.
The Palestinian Football Association has afterwards decided to punish
the Palestinian players who participated in the game, because no
friendly relations with Israel are tolerated.
Israel’s only friend, the US, is in the midst of this, more determined
than ever to quickly create a Palestinian state on God’s own land.
Israel has no choice but to obey. The US State Department has
methodically and systematically been working towards this goal for the
past 35 years, undermining Israel's freedom and national security behind
the scenes. The latest decision being forced upon Israel, is the opening
of traffic between Gaza and Hebron. Israel is trying to stop this
project until Abbas cracks down on terror, since they know that
dangerous weapons and terrorists will be smuggled with this traffic. The
US is saying, "Tough luck. Please obey immediately!"
Ariel Sharon, who since he was a teenager, has fought against Arab
terror like no other person, and who has been the father of the movement
to settle Gaza, Judea and Samaria, has now late in life made a complete
turnaround and is advocating the creation of a Palestinian state and
forsaking the settlers. Muslims are seeing this as strong sign of the
effectiveness of their terror and the soon end of Israel. Many Israeli
leaders, including vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, are now openly
talking about dividing Jerusalem. At the end of March, Israel will go to
the polls to elect a new government, a very crucial election indeed.
In the midst of this very, very dangerous situation for Israel, we
believe that God once again is going to be glorified. He will be
faithful to His promises and will reveal His salvation for the whole
world to see.
"But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes
like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant, the LORD Almighty will come
with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest
and flames of a devouring fire. Then the hordes of all the nations that
fight against Ariel, that attack her and her fortress and besiege her,
will be as it is with a dream, with a vision in the night — as when a
hungry man dreams that he is eating, but he awakens, and his hunger
remains; as when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he
awakens faint, with his thirst unquenched. So will it be with the hordes
of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion." (Isa 29:5-8)
But… this will require intercession. God has always worked that way!
This is both a privilege and a responsibility. It is a privilege that
the Almighty has decided to involve us in what He is doing, and not do
it all by Himself. What an honor! At the same time it is an awesome
responsibility that God is waiting on our prayers!
God is Looking for Intercessors
God is looking for intercessors. We believe that in 2006 we must
mobilize people to pray for Israel as never before. Ezekiel 22:30 says,
"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand
before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to
destroy it, but I found none." Will He find praying people today that He
can place as watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem in this critical hour?
At the launching of The Elijah Prayer Army in 1996, God spoke to us to
about the need to specifically mobilize intercession for the salvation
of Israel every year during Passover. Our most important prayer topic,
is to pray for the promised end time revival among both Jews and Arabs
where they will embrace the Messiah and find peace. Passover is the
season of salvation, deliverance and freedom through the blood of the
Lamb. It is the season of exodus and Aliyah. It is a God ordained time
to pray for these things.
In 2006 we will arrange as many Passover Seder celebrations with all
night prayer for Israel as possible around the world. We will stand in
the gap through the power of the blood of the Lamb, and pray in unison
for God’s intervention in the Middle East at a very critical time in
history. Romans 15:8 states, "For I tell you that Messiah has become a
servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, to confirm the promises
made to the patriarchs." Every promise to Israel has been sealed in the
blood of Yeshua. That is why he died. We ask all of you to make plans to
arrange an Intercessory Passover Seder in your city! Let us stand
together in faith and see God's mighty hand move.
We need you to pray for this project. We can only do these things as God
provides the funds. Thank you for standing with us in prayer and faith!

- Pray for a great increase of intercession for Israel in 2006!
- Pray that we can mobilize Christians around the world to intercede for
Israel during Passover in 2006!
- Pray for revival among both Jews and Arabs in Israel that they will
accept Yeshua as their Messiah!
- Pray for the elections of the new leader of the Likud party next week
that God will raise up the leader that He has chosen!
